Security personnel on Sunday stopped and detained protesting wrestlers as they tried to march towards the new Parliament from their site of protest at Jantar Mantar. The protesting wrestlers had informed earlier that they want to hold a women's Maha Panchayat in front of the new Parliament.

Sakshi Malik has said that the protesting wrestlers will ensure to remain peaceful and not indulge in any kind of violence. In the past one month, the protesting wrestlers have visited various places in the national capital, including Bangla Sahid Gurudwara and Rajghat among others to garner support for their movement against Brij Bhushan.

Meanwhile, Delhi Police on Sunday said that "unsocial elements" will not be allowed to enter the national capital to ensure smooth conduct of the inauguration ceremony of the new Parliament building, said DCP, Sonipat East Gaurav Rajpurohit.

Khap Panchayat has called for a 'Mahila Mahapanchayat' in support of wrestlers who have been protesting against Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) president Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, a BJP MP accusing him of sexual harassment. Seven women wrestlers have filed a police complaint against him.

"We have deployed male and female companies at Delhi-Haryana border points to ensure unsocial elements are stopped from entering Delhi. Sonipat East Zone Police has not detained anyone so far. We will not allow people to enter Delhi if their motive is to disrupt the inauguration of the new Parliament House, our intelligence team is identifying such people," added the DCP.

Delhi Police said that they will not allow anything to disrupt the inauguration.

"We will not allow anything to disrupt the inauguration of the new Parliament building. The entire Delhi Police is on its toes to make sure the inauguration ceremony is conducted smoothly," said Delhi Police Special CP Deepender Pathak.

Increased security measures have been implemented in the vicinity of the Ghazipur border area as Khap panchayat leaders and farmers plan to join the wrestlers' march towards the new Parliament house in Delhi today.

In response to the anticipated participation of Khap Panchayat leaders and farmers in the wrestlers' march, the Delhi Police have erected barricades near the ITO road, Tikri border, and Singhu border areas.

The Delhi Police has filed two FIRs against the WFI president. While the first FIR relates to allegations by the minor wrestler and has been registered under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, the second is related to outraging modesty.
