A major tragedy was averted last night after two wagons of an LPG rake derailed in Madhya Pradesh's Jabalpur district. The incident occured while the train was being placed for unloading inside the railway factory.

According to a report by Times Now, railway officials reached the derailment site late last night to oversee the restoration work. The report also states that the incident occurred near the Bharat Petroleum depot in Jabalpur district's Shahpura Bhitoni area.

Meanwhile, news agency ANI reported a senior railway official as saying that no main line movement was affected due to the derailment incident and restoration work has started in the presence of appropriate authorities.

Speaking to ANI, CPRO West Central Railway said, “Two wagons of LPG rake of a goods train derailed while being placed for unloading last night. No main line movement of trains affected. Train movement is normal in main line. Restoration work started after sunrise in the presence of siding authorities. Fitness certificate issued by Siding Owner"

This is not the first train accident that was averted in the recent days. News agency PTI on June 7 reported that a tractor crashed at the Santhaldih railway crossing in Jharkhand's Bokaro district right when New Delhi-Bhubaneswar Rajdhani Express was passing from the area. However, the major accident was averted after the driver of the train applied the brakes on time.

While speaking to PTI South Eastern Railway DRM Manish Kumar said, "A tractor crashed the railway gate when it was closing at the Santhaldih railway crossing of the Bhojudih railway station in Bokaro district. However, the driver of the train applied the brakes and the train stopped, averting any major accident,"

Recently, a major train accident in Odisha's Balasore district claimed the lives of 278 people and injured 1,100 others. The accident involved a crash involving 3 trains, including the Bengaluru-Howrah Superfast Express, the Shalimar-Chennai Central Coromandel Express and a goods train.
