Missed your connecting train because your first train was late? Don't worry, Indian Railways will refund your money. With the new PNR linking facility by Indian Railways Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC), the refund for missing connecting train becomes hassle free.
While booking the second train, the passenger needs to link the PNR of the first train. If the traveller misses the second train because the the first train delays, he/she can apply for full refund from the Indian Railways.
Few things need to be kept in mind while claiming the refund: a) Terminating station of main journey should match with the connecting train's originating station. b) Passengers details such as name, age, etc should be the same in both the PNRs. So be careful while while booking. c) Difference between main journey and connecting journey should not be more than five days. d) PNR from station and boarding station should be the same and PNR to station and reserved up to should be same, said IRCTC.

Passengers should mention the 'missing the connecting train because of the late running of the main train' for claiming the full refund. In terms of e-tickets, one can file the TDR within 3 hours of the actual arrival of the train at the interconnecting station.
