PremiumIndian Railways’ Central Railway zone has come with a unique initiative to promote rural art and also focus on the historical sites that the 22221/ 22222 Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus Mumbai – Hazrat Nizamuddin Rajdhani visits during its journey between the two important cities of the country.
The pantry car of the Rajdhani Express has been painted with places of historical importance on the route covered by the train. The paintings depict historical places like CSMT station of Mumbai, Taj Mahal and other historical places that fall on train’s route.

The initiative was brought to life on the coach side by Rushal Karale, an in-house talent of coaching depot, Wadi Bunder.
Rushal Karale, a fine art graduate of the J.J. school of art, Mumbai, has several works of art to his credit.
He had earlier created a mural of Mahatma Gandhi with pet bottle caps, on Gandhi Jayanti, this year.
The Rajdhani Express consists of one AC First class coach, five AC two-tier coaches and eleven AC 3-Tier coaches. The Rajdhani express stops at Kalyan, Nasik Road, Jalgaon, Bhopal, Jhansi and Agra Cantt.
The Train number 22221 Rajdhani Express leaves Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus Mumbai on every Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday.
Meanwhile, train No.22222 Rajdhani Express leaves Hazrat Nizamuddin on every Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday.
