The inauguration of the Mumbai-Goad Vande Bharat express train is expected to be held on 3 June. As per Times of India report, the inaugural run is expected on 3 June while the regular services for the passengers will start from 4 June. The Vande Bharat express on this route will reduce the travel time between the two cities by at least 45 minutes as compared to the Tejas Express. This will be Mumbai's fourth Vande Bharat express train.
The stops and timings of the trains will be updated by the Railway once the official announcement is out.
The trial of the semi-high-speed Vande Bhagat Express train was conducted on the Mumbai-Goa route on 16 May, officials said as quoted by PTI.
The Railway Board is likely to run the train with either 8 or 16 coaches, however, the final decision on the composition of the rake is yet to be conveyed. "The final decision on the composition of the rake is yet to to be conveyed by the Railway Board, a senior official was quoted by TOI.
At present, there are three Vande Bharat Express trains operating from the financial capital Mumbai: Mumbai Central – Ahmedabad – Gandhinagar Capital; Mumbai – Sainagar Shirdi, and Mumbai – Solapur.
The Vande Bharat Express is an electric multiple-unit train operated by Indian Railways. Vande Bharat trains are capable of running at a maximum speed of 180 km/hour. These advanced trains comprise GPS-based passenger information systems, bio-vacuum toilets, automatic doors, wi-fi, and regenerative braking systems.
Earlier on 29 May, PM Modi flagged off Assam's first Vande Bharat Express train through video conferencing. The new service will cover the distance of 411 km between Guwahati and New Jalpaiguri in 5 hours 30 minutes reducing the present shortest journey time by the speediest train significantly.
