Narendra Modi birthday: Man offers 1.25 kg gold crown at Varanasi temple

Varanasi: To mark Prime Minister's 69th birthday, a firm supporter of Narendra Modi has offered a gold crown weighing 1.25 kg at the Sankat Mochan Hanuman Temple in Varanasi. Arvind Singh made the offering on Monday night, a day before PM Modi's birthday.

Singh told reporters said that he had taken a pledge to make the offering if Modi, who represents the Varanasi parliamentary constituency, returned to power to form a government for the second consecutive term.

"Modi is the one who is building the nation in a manner that was not done previously. I, therefore, decided to offer the gold crown to Lord Hanuman so that Modi's and the nation's future can also shine like gold. It is a gift to the Lord from the people of Varanasi." IANS quoted Arvind Singh as saying

Varanasi is celebrating the Prime Minister's birthday by lighting lamps and distributing sweets and fruits to the poor.

Prime Minister Modi who reached Ahmedabad last night was welcomed by Gujarat Governor Acharya Devvrat and state Chief Minister Vijay Rupani at the airport. The BJP has marked the occasion by observing a 'Seva Saptah' during which various social initiatives will be launched.

An exhibition on Narendra Modi's achievements as prime minister opened at the BJP headquarters , showcasing key decisions taken by his dispensation—from abrogation of Article 370 provisions to making a law against 'triple talaq'.

Among the Modi government's works that have been showcased at the exhibition are zero-tolerance policy against terrorism, Balakot airstrike, steps to "boost" country's economy, Ayushman Bharat, constructions of National War Memorial and National Police Memorial and Sardar Sarovar Dam.
