New Parliament Inauguration: Here are the latest developments on opening ceremony

The inauguration ceremony of India's new Parliament building has begun with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla having arrived at the new House and attending the puja and havan. PM Modi has installed the historic ‘Sengol’ near the Lok Sabha's speaker's chair.
The morning phase ended at around 9:30 am after which the second leg of the ceremony is expected to begin at noon with the singing of the national anthem in the Lok Sabha chamber in the presence of all the dignitaries including PM Modi.
Key updates on the new Parliament inauguration ceremony
1) PM Modi inaugurated the new Parliament building starting with havan and pooja. He also unveiled the plaque to mark the inauguration of the new Parliament building.
2) Prime Minister Narendra Modi installed the historic ‘Sengol’ near Lok Sabha Speaker's chair at the new Parliament building with over a dozen priests chanting prayers during the installation of sengol.
3) The Prime Minister also attended muti-faith prayers. During the historic inauguration of the new Parliament building, prayers from all religions (Jain, Judaism, Hindu, Islam, Sikh) were recited. Amit Shah, Lok Sabha speaker Om Birla, Yogi Adityanath, Smriti Irani, and other leaders were also present during the multi-faith prayers.
4) PM Modi, accompanied by Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla and several Cabinet ministers, attended a significant 'Sarv-dharma' prayer ceremony held at the newly constructed Parliament building.
5) The ceremony began with a traditional 'pooja' with Vedic rituals which will continue for an hour. PM Modi performed "Ganapati Homam" to invoke Gods to bless the inauguration of the new Parliament building.
6) “The new Parliament House has been inaugurated today. I offered prayers according to Buddhist rituals. Everyone should work for the growth of the country unitedly and keep politics aside," said Lama Chosphel Zotpa, President, Himalaya Buddhist Cultural Association.
7) All entry and exit gates at Central Secretariat and Udyog Bhawan stations of the Delhi Metro have been closed because of the inauguration of the new Parliament building, officials said on Sunday.
8) Thousands of police personnel have been deployed and multiple layers of barricades put in place in the Lutyens' Delhi area on Sunday as part of the security arrangement for the inauguration of the new parliament building and protesting wrestlers' ‘Mahila Mahapanchayat’.
9) The wrestlers protesting at Jantar Mantar, about two kilometres from the parliament building, said they will go ahead with their "Mahila Mahapanchayat" near the new building at any cost. Police, however, said no protester will be allowed to move towards the new building as permission has not been granted to hold the "Mahila Mahapanchayat".
10) Police have already issued a traffic advisory that the New Delhi district will be treated as a controlled area and entry of vehicles will be restricted. Besides additional deployment of force, CCTV monitoring is being carried out continuously.
