Patna: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Monday said that the state government will bear the entire expenses incurred on the treatment of the coronavirus patients.
"The state government will bear the entire expenses, under Mukhyamantri Chikitsa Sahayata Kosh Yojana, of the treatment of the patients who have contracted novel coronavirus," Kumar said in the state Assembly.
The Chief Minister also announced a compensation in the case death due to coronavirus.
"If someone dies due to coronavirus then the next of the kin of the deceased will be given ₹4 Lakh as compensation from the Chief Minister's Relief Fund," he said.
Apart from this, the Bihar CM also said that regular screening of people is being done at 49 locations at the India-Nepal border to identify possible suspects of the COVID-19.
Following these announcements, the Bihar Assembly was adjourned sine-die due to the concerns related to the coronavirus outbreak.
Over 100 cases of coronavirus, including 17 foreign nationals, have been confirmed across India, Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare said on Sunday.
