Business News/ News / India/  Noida to open its first dog park today, to serve as connecting platforms for pet lovers

Noida authorities are finally ready with the much delayed Dog park and pet owners can visit the park with their pets from 1 June. The project is seen crucial as various incidents of dogs menace were reported from the city, usually ending up in people or dogs getting hurt. The project was originally scheduled to be completed by end of 2022, but got delayed due to various reasons.

“We have successfully completed this project with all departments, including electrical, engineering, and horticulture, working diligently. Starting from June 1, pet owners can avail themselves of this specially designated space for their beloved pets," said Ritu Maheshwari, the chief executive officer of the Noida authority.

Located on a spacious two-acre area right next to the Sector 137 Metro station of the Aqua Line, provides various facilities for dogs and their owners. These amenities include swings, designated paths for walking, a pool, expansive green areas, cozy cafes, and a canteen. The park's creation has been led by the horticulture department of the governing authority.

At the dog parks, the pet owners can get comprehensive services for their pets like trainers, vaccinations, and medical assistance. The authority officials also pointed at another purpose of the park, which is to build a community of pet lovers, where they can share experiences and organize events.

“Our goal is to create a space where pet lovers have access to dog food and various facilities under one roof. This park will not only benefit pets but also serve as a platform for pet owners to connect," said a Noida authority official, requesting anonymity.

“Dog Park is a much-needed project for the pets in the city as they hardly have any dedicated space for themselves. But we demand that the Noida authority must build more such parks dedicated for the animals, who have left with no space for themselves giving rise to the dog menace or other such issues in the city," Ponnam Kunar, a pet owner told Hindustan Times.
