The total number of positive coronavirus cases in Maharashtra rose to 335 on Wednesday, the state's health officials said. There have been 33 fresh cases since Tuesday night.

Thirty of these cases were found in Mumbai alone, two in Pune and one in Buldhana. With these new cases, the total number of confirmed cases in Mumbai rose to 181 while Pune (city and rural) has 50 cases.

There have been three deaths in past 24 hours, two in Mumbai and one in Palghar. The deaths in Mumbai are of a 75-year-old man and a 51-year-old man while in Palghar a 50-year-old man died.

"The count would increase further as there are around 5,000 people in the high-risk category because their relatives or close friends have tested positive for Covid-19," Health Minister Rajesh Tope said.
