Indian Railways has released a list of helpline numbers in connection with the train accident near Odisha's Bahanaga Baazar station on Friday.
The tragic train accident involving Bengaluru-Howrah Superfast Express, the Shalimar-Chennai Central Coromandel Express and a goods train occurred on Friday at around 7 pm. According to the latest update from the railway ministry, at least 233 people have been reported dead while around 650 people have been admitted to hospitals near Balasore.

The accident occurred after Bengaluru-Howrah Superfast Express derailed and fell onto the adjacent tracks. The Shalimar-Chennai Central Coromandel Express then collided with these coaches, causing its own coaches to capsize. Shortly afterwards, a goods train also collided with these derailed coaches.

High-level committee to be set up:
Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw on Saturday said that a high level committee will be set up to look into the train accident. While speaking to reporters, Vaishnaw said, “A detailed high-level inquiry will be conducted and the rail safety commissioner will also do an independent inquiry."
The central minister added, “ Our focus is on rescue and relief operations. Restoration will begin after clearance from the district administration"
Meanwhile, Indian Army medical and engineering teams with ambulances and support services have been deployed to assist in the evacuation and treatment of the injured involved in the tragic accident.
Latest reports indicate that PM Modi has also convened a high-level meeting to review the situation in Odisha. The Prime Minister had also dialled up the railway minister to take stock of the situation on Friday.
