Odisha train accident: Netizens cry foul, ‘sabotage’ theories go viral
Many social media users allege foul play in the Odisha train tragedy, with some claiming it was an act of 'clear sabotage'.

Days after the Odisha train tragedy claimed 275 lives and injured more than a thousand passengers, many have alleged foul play. Even as the railway board and other relevant authorities conduct an investigation, many social media users are convinced that it was an act of ‘clear sabotage’. There appear to be several contenders for the role of saboteur, with the discussion taking on political and communal undertones in some cases.
“Someone played with the signals for coromandel express. It’s a clear sabotage!" asserted one Twitter user.
He cited a second post flagging the time of the accident and wondering how “one of the most prestigious train in that sector" could enter the loop line?

And while some blamed Trinamool Congress leader Abhishek Banerjee, others were convinced it had something to do with the Congress. Some including Celframe Corporation's Arun Pudur dubbed this the new modus operandi of terror groups.
“I strongly feel the Coromandel Express tragedy is a sabotage by the INC paid goons. Very suspicious. Every time Pappu goes abroad, he orchestrated something ominous at home," claimed another user.
“The plan is to derail trains by railway tracks sabotage. Terror groups had started employing a new modus operandi to identify local boys on social media, pay them money, and put them on the job…" Pudur opined.
He also shared several purported excerpts from the primary investigation report. Many including the businessman have claimed that similar derailments had been thwarted in other parts of India around the same time.
