Ohmium partners NTPC to manufacture electrolysers for green hydrogen in India
Under the agreement, Ohmium’s patented electrolyzers will be deployed in various industrial and commercial applications, including ammonia production, transportation, and power generation, among others.

New Delhi: Ohmium International, a leading provider of green hydrogen solutions on Thursday announced that its India-based subsidiary has been chosen as the Proton Exchange Membrane (PEM) electrolyzer partner for NTPC Renewable Energy Limited (REL), the renewable energy arm of NTPC, India’s largest power utility.
In a statement, Ohmium said, “Its India-based subsidiary has been selected as the PEM electrolyser partner of NTPC Renewable Energy Limited (REL), the renewable energy subsidiary of NTPC."
The agreement is valid for two years till May 2025, the company added.
Under the agreement, Ohmium’s patented electrolyzers will be deployed in various industrial and commercial applications, including ammonia production, transportation, and power generation, among others. These electrolyzers are expected to be integrated into projects totaling up to 400 megawatts (MW) of capacity.
The collaboration with Ohmium will support NTPC’s goal of deploying 5 gigawatts (GW) of renewable energy for green hydrogen and ammonia production, contributing to the company’s ambitious target of achieving 60 GW of renewable energy capacity by 2032.
