The Indian Institute of Management- Calcutta (IIM-C) Sunday said it has completed placing all its students in jobs within two days and the average salary offered to its students were Rs. 25.36 lakh per annum.
The IIM said 123 companies made 501 offers to its flagship MBA program students, translating to several students receiving more than one offer. Of the 441 students who sought placement, 29% accepted offers in Consulting and 21% in finance sectors.
“The placements closed by Day 1 Afternoon which corresponds to the second day of making offers in the placement week,” the IIM said, adding that its students bagged an average salary of Rs. 25.36 lakhs per annum, an increase of 1.16 lakhs than 2018
On Saturday, IIM-A had said that its placement had started well on and consulting firms are offering higher number of offers to its students. At IIM-A, after the completion of the cluster 1 comprising a batch of leading recruiters has completed. While Accenture strategy made the highest – 24 offers, The Boston Consulting Group (BCG) made 20 offers. IIM-A does not reveal salary details till it completes a placement audit by August-September every year. IIM-A said firms like Goldman Sachs, HSBC, JP Morgan, McKinsey & Company were among who offered jobs to their students.
IIM Calcutta said top consulting firms such as AT Kearney, Bain & Co., BCG and McKinsey & Co. made offers in double digits. Other prominent names included EY-Parthenon, Alvarez & Marsal, and PwC. amongst others. Accenture was the largest recruiter with 24 offers.
IIM-Lucknow too has completed its final placement with 460 students getting placed in 147 firms. The Lucknow based B-School said the top 4 segments based on roles offered were consulting, finance, sales and marketing, and business development. Of all the offers, IIM-L said 32% were in consulting, general management (14%), finance (16%), sales and marketing (16%) and e-commerce firms offered 15% of the jobs.
Similarly, XLRI Jamshedpur said it has completed its placement process by placing 358 students bagging jobs in two days. IIM Bangalore placement process is on.
Other than top consulting firms, companies like Goldman Sachs, Bank of America Merrill Lynch, Citi, JP Morgan Chase, Deutsche Bank, Amazon, Uber, Microsoft, Google, Wipro, Tata Group firms and Aditya Birla group firms were top recruiters.
