NEW DELHI : Former Union minister P Chidambaram was rushed to All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi on Monday after he complained of a stomach ache. Chidambaram has been in the custody of the Enforcement Directorate in the INX Media money laundering case.

“Chidambaram was brought to the premier medical institute at 5:40 PM to the VIP ward in the old building under Dr Vineet Ahuja, Professor Department of Gastroenterology at AIIMS. “Doctors are monitoring his health condition, and sometime ago he was taken to the emergency department for conducting some tests. Currently we cannot say whether we will discharge him today or not," a senior doctor at AIIMS told Mint.

On 16 October, the Enforcement Directorate formally arrested Chidambaram in the INX media case. He had earlier been remanded to judicial custody after the Central Bureau of Investigation arrested him in August.
