New Delhi: Prime minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday hailed the reformed recruitment system, citing its success in eliminating corruption and nepotism. Addressing the National Rozgar Mela via video link, he distributed about 71,000 appointment letters to newly recruited government personnel.
In his address, Modi expressed his best wishes to the new recruits and their families and underscored the government’s dedication to youth empowerment and transparent recruitment. He highlighted Rozgar Melas, job fairs held nationwide, as testament to this commitment.
The prime minister marked the day as the anniversary of the Lok Sabha Election results, celebrating “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas," or “development for all." He also acknowledged Sikkim’s establishment day.
Modi emphasized that employment-focused policies over the past nine years have seen approximately ₹34 trillion invested in capital expenditure and basic facilities. This year’s budget has allocated ₹10 trillion to capital expenditure, spurring the creation of modern infrastructure and numerous job opportunities.
Modi cited advancements such as the electrification of 40,000 km of rail lines, expansion of the metro rail network, and increased rural road connectivity as key drivers of employment generation. Foreign investment, export potential, and the flourishing startup ecosystem were also noted as contributing to the buoyant job market.
The prime minister concluded his address by urging recruits to seize the opportunity and contribute to national development. He stressed the government’s commitment to skill development through initiatives such as the iGoT Karmayogi online learning platform.
