Prime Minister Narendra Modi today addressed the monthly radio programme 'Mann Ki Baat' in which he highlighted how he was inspired by track legend Milkha Singh. He also spoke about the upcoming Tokyo Olympics during his monthly radio programme. PM Modi also commended the healthcare workers of the country for carrying out record vaccination on June 21.

Here are the highlights of PM Modi's Mann Ki Baat address:

-It must be the endeavour of our CA Community to build top quality firms that are Indian.

-PM salutes the hardworking doctors of India.

-PM Modi highlights water conservation, says it can be considered 'service to the nation'.

-I urge you all to trust science. Trust our scientists. So many people have taken the vaccine. Let us never believe in negative rumours relating to the vaccine.

-Those who are spreading rumours on vaccines, let them be. We all will do our work and ensure people around us get vaccinated. The threat of COVID-19 remains and we have to focus on vaccination as well as follow COVID-19 protocols

-PM Modi urges the nation to overcome vaccine hesitancy. He says I have taken both doses. My mother is almost a hundred years old, she has taken both vaccines too. Please do not believe any negative rumours relating to vaccines.

-Commendable momentum on the vaccination front.

-Every athlete who is going to Tokyo 2020 has worked hard. They are going there to win hearts. It must be our endeavour to support our team and not put pressure on the team.

-Pravin Jadhav of Satara district in Maharastra is an outstanding archer. His parents work as labourers and now Jadhav is going to participate in his first Olympics in Tokyo.

-Neha Goyal, member of India's Women's Hockey team. Her mother & sisters work at cycle manufacturing to run the family. Dipika Kumari's journey has also been full of ups & downs. Dipika is the only woman archer to represent India at Tokyo Olympics.

-Every player going to Tokyo has had one’s own share of struggle, and years of toil. They are going not only for themselves but for the country. Friends, there are numerous such names, but in Mann Ki Baat, today I have been able to mention only a few.

-When talking about the Olympics, how can we not remember Milkha Singh Ji. When he was hospitalised, I got a chance to speak to him, I had requested him to motivate the athletes going for Tokyo Olympics.

-Prime Minister Narendra Modi remembered legendary athlete Milkha Singh, who breathed his last on June 18

-PM Modi begins his address to the nation.

"Mann ki Baat" is the Prime Minister's monthly radio address to the nation, which is broadcast on the last Sunday of every month.

The programme is broadcast on the entire network of All India Radio and Doordarshan and also on the AIR News website www.newsonair.com and Newsonair mobile App.

Yesterday, Prime Minister shared an old Mann Ki Baat episode that contained many aspects of overcoming the drugs menace on International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking. In a tweet, Prime Minister wrote, "Let us reiterate our commitment to #ShareFactsOnDrugs and realise our vision of a Drugs Free India. Remember- addiction is neither cool nor a style statement. Sharing an old #MannKiBaat episode which contained many aspects of overcoming the drugs menace."
