PM Modi received a rousing welcome as he arrived on Tuesday on the first leg of his maiden state visit to the US. During his visit, he will lead the celebrations of the International Day of Yoga at the United Nations Headquarters and also hold bilateral talks with President Joe Biden in Washington.
PM Modi is staying at the Lotte New York Palace Hotel which is located at the Madison Avenue. Considered as Midtown's most celebrated address, it offers remarkable experiences within The Palace and The Towers. The height of the luxurious hotel is 563 feet and is a 51-storied skyscraper.
The palace has 733 rooms and suites. The palace offers different types of rooms for the guests where the starting price for one night stay at a Superior Room with King Bed is around $520 which is around ₹42,000.
The palace offers different type of room options right from Superior room, Catherdal rooms, skyline catherdal room, palace studio suite, palace family suite etc. The prices for suite can go up to ₹89,000 for one night.
The tower section in the hotel has room like Luxury Tower room, Towers Executive suite, Towers corner suite, Skyview suite, Penthouse suite, The Champagne suite, The imperial suite. The starting price for Luxury tower room starts at $495 which is about ₹40,000 and the price of the penthouse can go up to ₹12 lakhs.
Meanwhile, the Prime Minister has a series of engagements lined up for him in New York and Washington on the second day of his state visit to the US. He will lead the 9th International Day of Yoga celebrations at the UN headquarters. After that, the Prime Minister will depart for Washington DC. Earlier today, PM met Tesla Chief Executive and Twitter owner Elon Musk. Musk said that he is planning to visit India next year adding that he is confident that the electric carmaker will be in India and will do so “as soon as humanly possible." PM Modi met a group of healthcare experts today in the US. He later tweeted, “They shared their rich perspectives on ways to augment healthcare capacities in India. I told them about the work we have done in integrating latest technology in the sector and our efforts like TB elimination."
The Prime Minister and US First Lady Jill Biden will visit the National Science Foundation on Wednesday where they would interact with Indian and American students, the White House said. On 22 June, PM Modi will also address a joint sitting of the US Congress.
On 22 June, PM Modi will also travel to Washington DC, where he will receive a ceremonial welcome at the White House, and meet President Biden to continue their high-level dialogue. The US President and Jill Biden will host a State Dinner in honour of the Prime Minister the same evening.
On June 23, PM Modi will be jointly hosted at a luncheon by US Vice President Kamala Harris and Secretary of State Antony Bilnken. In addition to official engagements, Prime Minister Modi is scheduled to have several curated interactions with leading CEOs, professionals, and other stakeholders. He will also meet members of the Indian Diaspora. The PM will then travel to Cairo to pay a state visit to Egypt.
