A 68-year-old woman tested positive for Coronavirus in Puducherry's Mahe today. The diagnosis marks the first positive case of the novel coronavirus in Puducherry, PTI reported.
The patient is currently undergoing treatment at Mahe Hospital.
The Puducherry government on Sunday declared a holiday for all pre KG and primary schools in the Union Territory until further orders as part of precautionary steps to contain the spread of coronavirus.
The territorial government has launched a slew of measures to contain spread of the disease which include screening of passengers arriving in the union territory by various modes of transports.
The official number of positive coronavirus cases in India as per Ministry of Health is 126 with 3 deaths.
