Pulses get expensive, fruits and vegetables cheaper

  • Even though the CPI inflation was in the negative, the inflation for pulses has reached -2.25% from -13.41% year-on-year
  • The price for fruits, vegetables have decreased year-on-year with the inflation decreasing from 5.78% to -5.88% and 11.7% to -1.49% respectively

The inflation data for March released by the Government of India shows that the prices of pulses have increased. Even though the CPI inflation was in the negative, the inflation for pulses has reached -2.25% from -13.41% year-on-year. However, the price for fruits and vegetables have decreased year-on-year with the inflation decreasing from 5.78% to -5.88% and 11.7% to -1.49% respectively.
