Raghuram Rajan wrecked entire banking system as RBI governor: Rajeev Chandrasekhar

PremiumUnion Minister Rajeev Chandrashekar lashed out at former RBI governor Raghuram Rajan on Friday, asserting that the latter had ‘wrecked the entire banking system during his tenure. Addressing a press conference on Friday morning he also asserted that Artificial Intelligence did not pose a threat to jobs in its current form and lashed out at the newly formed Congress government in Karnataka.
“I think he should decide whether he is a politician...a failed politician or a failed economist. Because we all know that when he was RBI governor he wrecked the entire banking system and the financial sector," the Union Minister said.
Last week, fellow union minister Ashwini Vaishnaw had also former RBI governor Raghuram Rajan for his dim view of the growth in certain sectors. The lawmaker who handles key portfolios such as railways, communications, electronics and information technology growth said that the economist's colours changed when he turned a "politician".
