Actor Rajpal Yadav has been released from the Tihar Jail after he was granted interim bail in a cheque bounce case by the Delhi high court. In his first remarks as he walked out of the jail, Rajpal Yadav, surrounded by reporters and supporters, vowed to address all allegations against him.

Rajpal Yadav said, “I will complete 30 years in Bollywood in Mumbai in 2027. People from all over the country, children, old and young, are with me... The way the entire country and the world, my Bollywood, has loved me, if there are any allegations against me, I am available to answer. Thank you, High Court.”

Karkardooma Court in Delhi had earlier in day issued a release warrant for Rajpal Yadav from Tihar Jail, his counsel had informed. The actor was granted interim bail in a cheque bounce case by the high court.

On Monday, the Delhi High Court granted an interim suspension of Rajpal Yadav’s sentence until March 18. Justice Swarna Kanta Sharma directed him to furnish a personal bond of 1 lakh along with a surety of the same amount.

While hearing Rajpal Yadav's cheque bounce case and considering relief, the court noted that 1.5 crore has been deposited in the respondent's bank account. The court then ordered the suspension of the actor's sentence on the condition that Yadav furnish a personal bond of 1 lakh along with one surety of the same amount.

He will remain out of custody until March 18, when the court is scheduled to hear the matter again. This was after the private company M/S Murli Project's lawyer, Advocate Avneet Singh Sikka, confirmed that Yadav deposited 1.5 crore into the company's bank accounts against the bounced cheque amount.

Earlier, Yadav’s counsel, Adv. Bhaskar Upadhyay, offered to deposit 1.5 crore unconditionally via a fixed deposit receipt (FDR). However, Justice Swarna Kanta Sharma directed that the payment be made through a Demand Draft (DD).

In earlier hearings, the court had also rapped Rajpal Yadav, saying that he was in jail because he failed to comply with his commitment.

Justice Swarana Kanta Sharma said, “You did not go to jail because the Court passed an order. You have gone to jail because you have failed to comply with your own commitments to the Court. You were not giving the money because the Court asked you to, you were giving the money because you entered into a settlement.”
