New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will distribute appointment letters to as many as 70,000 new recruits in the next phase of Rozgar mela scheduled on 13 June.
According to the prime minister's office (PMO), Modi will also address the new recruits via video conference. The Centre’s Rozgar Mela initiative was launched in October last year and the scheduled 13 June drive will be held at 43 centers.
The first Rozgar Mela took place on 22 October, and provided appointment letters to 75,000 new recruits. The second, third, fourth and fifth editions took place on 22 November 2022, 20 January, 13 April, and 13 June respectively, and provided a similar number of appointment letters.
The new recruits, selected from across the country, will join various government departments including department of financial services, department of posts, department of school education, department of higher education, ministry of defence, department of revenue, ministry of health and family welfare, department of atomic energy, ministry of railways, department of audit and accounts, department of atomic energy and ministry of home affairs, among others.
The Rozgar Mela is a step towards fulfilment of the commitment of the prime minister to accord the highest priority to employment generation. The Rozgar Mela is expected to act as a catalyst in employment generation and provide meaningful opportunities to the youth for their empowerment and participation in national development, the PMO said.
The newly inducted appointees will also get an opportunity to train themselves through Karmayogi Prarambh, an online module on iGOT Karmayogi portal, where more than 400 e-learning courses have been made available for ‘anywhere any device’ learning format, it added.
