Sedition complaint against Rahul Gandhi transferred to special court for MPs

  • A criminal complaint was filed against Rahul Gandhi for making a derogatory statement at a public meeting against PM Modi
  • The matter to be heard on April 26

NEW DELHI : The Patiala house court on Tuesday had transferred the sedition complaint matter against Rahul Gandhi to the special court for MPs at Rouse Avenue for further directions. The petition was moved against Rahul Gandhi on a complaint filed for making a derogatory statement in a public meeting against PM Modi accusing him of hiding behind the blood of soldiers and doing dalaali on soldiers' sacrifice.

The criminal complaint was filed in Delhi's Patiala house court under Section-124A (sedition) against Rahul Gandhi. It was filed by advocate Joginder Tuli. He said that- Rahul Gandhi has given speeches that PM is doing dalali of the jawans. Police should have taken action. Uttering words openly in the public is highly wrong. Nobody has a right to say things against the soldiers."

The petition was being heard by district and session Judge Poonam A. Bamba.

The matter will now be heard on April 26.
