Shahbad Dairy Murder: Delhi Police says Sahil bought knife 15 days ago, planned murder; accused cites ‘fit of rage’

PremiumDelhi's Shahabad Dairy area murder of a 16 year old girl, by a 20 year old man has shocked many. The man, Sahil, has been arrested following which the Delhi Police has revealed details of the alleged murderer's whereabouts after he committed the crime.
The Delhi Police has revealed that Sahil was seen roaming around the crime site where he stabbed the teenager multiple times and then bludgeoned her with a huge stone. Sahil roamed the crime site for another half an hour after he killed the 16-year old girl who was allegedly his romantic partner.
Post committing the crime, Sahil was spotted in a nearby park with the murder weapon, the knife in his hand. The Delhi Police also informed that Sahil then went to Rithala, where he got rid of the knife. As per the police, he threw it in a forest area and switched off his mobile phone thereafter.
Detailing on Sahil's activities from after stabbing the 16 year old girl, the chilling footage of which was caught on a nearby CCTV camera, the Delhi Police said that Sahil left for Samaypur Badli by e-rickshaw.
The Police said, in Samaypur Badli Sahil spent the night near a metro station. The next morning, he went from Samaypur Badli to Anand Vihar, where he took a bus to Bulandshahr. An alert Sahil, fearing arrest, even changed buses on his way, the police said.
This was revealed a day after the Delhi Police said that Sahil Khan had shown no remorse when he was arrested in Uttar Pradesh's Bulandshahr on Monday.
Sahil, 20, stabbed Sakshi over 20 times and then bludgeoned her with a cement slab, killing her on the spot. She was found to have 34 injury marks on her body and her skull was smashed.
Sahil bought knife 15 days ago
The knife used by the accused in the horrific Shahbad Dairy murder was bought by him around 15 days ago from Haridwar and it was thrown near Rithala Metro Station after the crime, police said on Tuesday.
Police are still looking for the knife, they said.
Sashil planned to murder Sakshi?
According to police, since Sahil bought the knife days before the incident, it is not unlikely he was planning to kill her. Yet he claimed that he killed the girl in a fit of rage because she was constantly ignoring him, they said.
"The statements by him are being verified. Sometimes he says she ignored him which angered him. But he also suspected that Sakshi was getting involved with her former boyfriend," the officer said.
According to police, Sahil could have been planning to attack the girl for some time as she had started meeting her ex-boyfriend Praveen. She was in a relationship with Praveen for three to four years before she fell for Sahil, they said.

Sahil has claimed that Sakshi, the deceased 16 year-old, was keen to get back with Praveen since he had a motorcycle, police said.
On Saturday, Sakshi warned Sahil to stay away from her. She was with her friend Bhawna and her boyfriend Jhabru at the time. Jhabru too threatened to beat Sahil if he came near Sakshi, police said.
The girl had broken up with Sahil eight days ago.
Police also said that Sakshi mentioned the name of her friend Neetu's husband, a known criminal in the area, to threaten Sahil.
According to police, Sakshi and Sahil had been seeing each other since June 2021. But for the last three to four months, she started moving away from the accused, they said.
Sahil got drunk on Sunday afternoon and in the evening confronted Sakshi, who was on her way to the birthday party of her friend's child after changing clothes in a public convenience, police said.
According to police, Praveen, who is also in his 20s, is in Uttar Pradesh's Jaunpur and has been asked to come to Delhi to join the investigation.
