As the season three of Shark Tank India is all set to kick in, Shark Tank India judge and executive director of Emcure Pharmaceuticals has shared a success story of the company she had invested during the season 1 of the reality show.
In a twitter post, Thapar spoke about Sulay Lavsi who is the founder and CEO of underwear brand Bummer. Bummer deals in Ultra-Soft, breathable and eco-friendly underwears, moreover, the company also deals in t-shirts, pyjamas, shorts for men and women.
Coming back to Thapar, in her post she added that he was the one founder who had won her heart with his negotiation skills and poise.
She also went and spoke about the companies success whose annual sales was 60 lakhs when he had come for the pitch in Shark Tank Season 1 and as of today, he’s exited FY 23 at 11 crore with his current Monthly Recurring Revenue (MRR) of around 2 crore.
Sharing a picture with Lavsi, Thapar wrote, “As sharks, it all comes down to taking a bet on the founder. Today I met Sulay of Bummer, he’s one founder who won my heart with his negotiation skills & poise. He was at 60 lakhs annual sales when he pitched & today he’s exited FY 23 at 11 cr with current MRR of around 2 cr !”
Commenting on her post, user applauded his remarkable achievement.
One user wrote, “Very encouraging wishing him great luck.” Another user commented, “I remember this guy, that famous doglapan dialogue was said to him, he also was very keen on his offer, he didn't give up 0.5% equity!”
One user wrote, “Great Achievement...” One user also called products of the brand over priced. “Great to know the success stories of startups. I personally feel bumeer brand is overpriced,” user commented.
Congratulating him, another user wrote, “It's inspiring to see the growth and success of Bummer under Sulay's leadership. His negotiation skills and poise have clearly paid off. It goes to show that betting on the right founder can make all the difference. Congrats to Sulay and the team!”
One user said that Sulay could be the next Shark. “He truly can be the next shark. I have this insane faith in this guy!”
