Southeast Delhi schools to remain shut on Monday: Manish Sisodia

  • 'In Delhi's south east district areas including Jamia, Okhla, New Friends Colony and Madanpur Khadar, all government and private schools will remain closed tomorrow,' Delhi deputy CM tweeted

New Delhi: All schools in southeast Delhi will remain shut on Monday, Delhi deputy chief minister and education minister Manish Sisodia announced here on Sunday night.

According to Delhi deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia, all government and private schools in Okhla, Jamia Nagar, New Friends Colony, Madanpur Khadar areas of south east Delhi district will remain closed on Monday.

The announcement came in the wake of unprecedented violence that erupted following protests in Jamia Nagar, against the Citizenship Amendment Act.

Violent protesters set on fire buses and clashed with police near Jamia Millia Islamia university on Sunday afternoon against the amended citizenship law.
