'Naatu-Naatu' is amongst the most viral songs this year and people across the world are trying their hand at the dance steps of the Oscar-winning song. Notably, the shooting for the song was conducted in Ukraine, outside the official residence of Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. In a recent video, some Ukrainian soldiers can be seen dancing to the beats of 'Naatu-Naatu'.

"The military from Mykolaiv filmed a parody of the song #NaatuNaatu from of the movie "RRR", the main soundtrack of which won an Oscar this year. In the original scene, the main characters express their protest against the British officer (colonizer) for not allowing them to meet with a song," a Ukrainian politician said while sharing the video.

The song was filmed in Ukraine in August 2021, months before the Russian forces invaded the country in February 2022. RRR director SS Rajamouli recently shared how they shot the song just before the intense Russia-Ukraine war.

"We had gone there to shoot some crucial scenes. When we were shooting, I had no idea about the issues that have now escalated into a war. It was only after I returned and looking at things now, did I understand the seriousness of the issue," director SS Rajamouli said.

Ram Charan praises Volodymyr Zelenskyy

While praising Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelenskyy for his support in shooting the film, RRR actor Ram Charan said being an artist himself, he understood us.

“We shot Naatu-Naatu at Ukraine's presidential palace. Being an artist himself, he was so gracious and let us shoot there. We were shooting for 17 odd days," the actor said.

'Naatu-Naatu' has made a lot of headlines this year with people from all walks of life seen dancing to the song. Recently, during the opening of the G20 Tourism Working Group meeting in Srinagar Oscar-winning actor Ram Charan was seen recreating the iconic steps of the 'Naatu-Naatu' song with Korean ambassador Chang Jae-bok.
