Vadodara car accident: Was Rakshit driving? CCTV footage reveals shocking details of minutes before incident | Watch

A car and two-wheeler collision in Vadodara resulted in one woman's death and eight injuries. Driver Rakshit Ravish Chaurasia is in custody.

A brutal collision between a car and a two-wheeler in Vadodara, Gujarat, led to the death of one woman and left eight others injured. The driver responsible, Rakshit Ravish Chaurasia, is currently in police custody.

Vadodara Police Commissioner Narasimha Komar confirmed that more than three vehicles were involved in the incident, including two active vehicles and one electric vehicle (EV).

Meanwhile, a viral CCTV camera recording shows Rakshit and his friend Suresh arriving at the latter's house on a scooter. Rakshit is riding the scooter, with Suresh sitting behind, according to a report by NDTV.

The two arrive at Suresh’s house around 10:30 pm on Thursday, where Rakshit parks the scooter. They then proceed to take the stairs to enter the house, with Rakshit seen holding a bottle in his hand, although it is unclear what the bottle contains.

Around 15 minutes later, Pranshu Chauhan arrives at Suresh's house in a sedan, parks the car outside, and takes the stairs. At 11:25 pm, Rakshit and Pranshu are seen walking down and heading towards the car.

As Pranshu takes the driver's seat, Rakshit approaches him, but an obstruction blocks the view, making Rakshit briefly invisible. However, Pranshu is seen talking to Rakshit before moving to the passenger seat.

While the police have registered a drink and drive case against the accused, Rakshit Ravish Chaurasia, he claimed that he was not drunk on the night of the accident, ANI reported.

‘Rakshit Ravish looked intoxicated,’ victim says he was over-speeding for enjoyment.

The accused said that he went for a Holika Dahan celebration and did not do any party. Chaurasia stated that he was not drunk but was driving the car at a speed of 50 km/ph; he further urged to meet the members of the victim's family and said that he was responsible for the accident.
