Uttarakhand will get its first Vande Bharat Express train this week. Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said Prime Minister Narendra Modi will flag off the train on 25 May virtually.

"Vande Bharat train is going to reach Uttarakhand as well. Uttarakhand is moving forward today under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Something or the other has been given to Uttarakhand in every field by the Prime Minister," he said.

The semi-high-speed train willl run on the Delhi-Dehradun route. According to a report by Live Hindustan, Livemint's sister publication, on the inauguration day (25 May), the train will leave from the state capital Dehradun at 11 AM and passengers will be able to travel for free on the first day. Passengers can avail of free travel passes on 24 May.

About Uttarakhand's first Vande Bharat Express:

The Delhi-Dehradun Vande Bharat Express will have eight coaches. All coaches will be chair cars. The train runs at a speed of 100 km per hour in 52 seconds.

It will have advanced systems such as biotoilets, GPS-based information systems, and automatic sliding doors.

Dehradun-Delhi Vande Express timings

The train will leave from Dehradun at 5:50 AM and will reach Delhi by 11 AM.

Fares

Fares of Vande Bharat Express' Dehradun-Delhi routes are not final yet. According to the officials, the train fares can be 1.2% more than Shatabdi. The AC chair car fares are 1,055 and that of the executive class is 1,615.
