Zara Hatke Zara Bachke Box Office Collection: Vicky Kaushal, Sara Ali Khan’s movie earns ₹5.49 crore on day 1

Zara Hatke Zara Bachke minted ₹5.49 crore at the domestic box office on its opening day. The Vicky Kaushal and Sara Ali Khan starrer is a romantic-comedy which follows the life of a married couple Kapil and Somya who are headed for a divorce.

"Kapil aur Somya sahparivaar macha rahe hain box-office par dhoom! This wouldn’t have been possible without your pyaar," tweeted Dinesh Vijan's Maddock Films while sharing the movie's day one net box office collection in a poster.

The film is set in Indore and has been directed by Laxman Utekar of "Luka Chuppi" and "Mimi" fame. Co-produced by Jio Studios, the film also stars Inaamulhaq, Sushmita Mukherjee, Neeraj Sood, Rakesh Bedi and Sharib Hashmi in pivotal roles.

According to trade analyst Taran Adarsh, the film had gotten a boost due to a ‘Buy-1-Get-1’ free ticket offer that will be in place till Sunday. “Zara Hatke Zara Bachke takes off on Day 1... Silences naysayers and pessimists, who had predicted [below] ₹2 crore start. The ‘national chains’ contributed a healthy ₹3.35 cr on Day 1,” he tweeted.

Zara Hatke starts firmly in the comedy territory, featuring yoga instructor Kapil and his tutor wife of two years, Soumya. Both are pressed for space in their home, with mummyji, daddyji, mamaji, mamiji, and a nephew who is far too clever for his own good, frequently placing himself between the young couple when they want to cuddle. As Soumya sees it, the only way out is to find a place where they can enjoy their solitude, and to that end, the two start on a route fraught with stumbling obstacles, including a fake divorce.
