Road or carpet? Viral video of poor construction quality of road surfaces in Maharashtra
Villagers expose poorly constructed road under PMGSY in Maharashtra; video goes viral showing portion of road easily lifted off surface like a blanket.
PremiumIn a classic example of shoddy work, villagers exposed a road that was constructed the under Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojna (PMGSY) as reported by the Pune Mirror. In the video it can be clearly seen that a poorly constructed road between Karjt to Aste Bokhari village in Jalna district of Maharashtra was coming off as a blanket.
The video has gone viral on the social media after the clip exposed the work done to construct the road. In the video clip it can be clearly seen that a group of villagers can easily lift the portion of the road and what should have a strong structure filled with asphalt is actually coming out of the surface like a blanket.
"This is all bogus work being carried out in the name of development," a villager says on camera.
As the video went viral, netizens came with different reactions, as a user tagged Union Minister Nitin Gadkari as well and wrote,"Sir, I don't know the reality of this video but if its true then it is definitely matter of concern. Please do the needful. This is a request from a common man."
Another user sarcastically wrote,"Very good technology! This is called factory made Road! Just dispatched the require quantity of rolls at the site, unroll it and all is done!
One user wrote,"It's the latest innovation. Portable road. Once the photos have been taken and bill cleared, its job is done. The "road" will then be moved to the next location."
