Presenting Delhi Metro, a battleground.

Delhi Metro Becomes a Battleground as Two Women Engage in Altercation

In a startling incident aboard a Delhi Metro train, two young women found themselves embroiled in a heated confrontation that quickly turned physical. A video capturing the altercation has gone viral on social media, drawing attention to the ongoing debate surrounding public behaviour and moral policing in the country.

The video begins with one of the women brandishing her shoe as if it were a weapon while the other woman prepares herself for the imminent clash by setting aside her phone. Passengers in the ladies' compartment can be heard imploring them to refrain from resorting to violence. The tension mounts as both women exchange threats and await the first move from their opponent.

Amid the commotion, the video cuts to a subsequent moment where one of the women can be seen voicing her grievances to the driver of the train using the internal communication system while seeking action against her adversary. However, fellow commuters advise her to deescalate the situation and settle the argument amicably.

As emotions intensify, the verbal exchange turns into a barrage of abuses, and the woman holding a water flask throws its contents at her opponent, further exacerbating the conflict.

The incident comes on the heels of a separate video that recently circulated on social media, featuring a young couple kissing on a train in Delhi. This video sparked a widespread debate regarding moral policing and public displays of affection.

In response to the controversy, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has urged passengers to report any objectionable behaviour they witness during their journeys. The corporation has also vowed to increase the presence of surveillance teams to monitor such incidents more closely.

The incident aboard the Delhi Metro train highlights the need for maintaining decorum and civility while travelling on public transport. It serves as a reminder of the importance of respectful behaviour and restraint in shared spaces, ensuring a safe and comfortable experience for all passengers.
