Rescue efforts are currently underway in Madhya Pradesh's Sehore district to save a 2.5-year-old girl who fell into a deep borewell at Mugavali village on Tuesday. With the assistance of JCB machines, a diligent operation is in progress to retrieve the child from the 300-feet deep well.

Ashish Tiwari, an official from Sehore Panchayat, expressed their commitment to rescuing the child. He mentioned that a trench is being excavated adjacent to the borewell in order to facilitate the rescue. However, as more than 12 hours have passed since the incident occurred, the exact movements or condition of the child cannot be clearly observed from the surface.

"We are making all possible efforts to pull the child out. A trench is being dug on the side (of the borewell). Since it has been more than 12 hours, movement (of the child) is not clearly visible from here," PTI quoted Tiwari as saying.

In a distressing incident that unfolded in Mungavali village under Mandi police station limits, the child named Shristi Kushwaha fell into a borewell on June 6 around 2 pm. The young child is currently stuck at a depth of approximately 25 to 30 feet, ANI reported.

Prompt action was taken by the authorities upon receiving the news, and a rescue operation was swiftly launched. The administration, accompanied by a team comprising the police force, State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) and National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), arrived at the site to commence the rescue mission.

As per the latest updates shared by Tiwari, oxygen is being supplied to the trapped girl. Intensive efforts are being made to reach a depth of 30 feet, and once this target is reached, the NDRF team will perform horizontal drilling to rescue the child.

Providing additional information, Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Aman Mishra conveyed that the rescue team has already dug 22 feet and is working tirelessly to reach the child. He confirmed that the girl is responding and receiving a steady supply of oxygen.

The rescue operation is a race against time, with the collective focus of the team directed towards safely retrieving the young girl from the borewell. The challenging circumstances necessitate careful drilling and calculated maneuvers to avoid any further complications.

The local administration, along with the aid of specialised forces, is leaving no stone unturned in their dedicated efforts. Their determination is evident as they persevere to overcome the hurdles posed by the depth and narrowness of the borewell.
