Wayanad landslide: Prabhas donates ₹2 crore to victims, joins Allu Arjun, Chiranjeevi, Ram Charan, other stars

Prabhas is the latest addition to the list of Indian actors who came forward and made donations to support the victims of the Wayanad landslide that wreaked havoc in Kerala. Prabhas, last seen in the superhit movie Kalki 2898 AD, contributed ₹2 crore to the Kerala Chief Minister Relief Fund, reported mathrubhumi.com.

The Telugu Cinema superstar also said that the devastation caused by the Wayanad Kerala landslide is one of the worst tragedies in Kerala and highlighted the significance of supporting the state during difficult times, according to the report. This is not the first time Prabhas has come forward to help victims of natural disasters, and he has also made donations for the victims of Kerala floods in the past.

Other Indian actors who donated to the Kerala CM Relief fund

Prabhas is the latest addition to the list of actors who donated for the aid and rehabilitation of Wayanad landslide victims. Earlier, Allu Arjun, Chiranjeevi, Ram Charan, Chiyaan Vikram had donated money for Wayanad landslide relief work.

Allu Arjun also showed support for relief work in landslide-hit Wayanad. In a public statement, the Pushpa-famous actor vowed to donate ₹25 lakh to Kerala CM Relief Fund to help victims of the landslide.

“I am deeply saddened by the recent landslide in Wayanad. Kerala has always given me so much love, and I want to do my bit by donating ₹25 lakh to the Kerala CM Relief Fund to support the rehabilitation work. Praying for your safety and strength," Allu Arjun wrote in a statement on Instagram.

Apart from Prabhas, Ram Charan and his father and legendary actor Chiranjeevi announced a donation of ₹1 crore for the landslide victims. Notably, Chiyaan Vikram was one of the first celebrities who donated to the Kerala CM Relief fund. Vikram had made a contribution of ₹50 lakh to the victims of the devastating disaster. Earlier, Rashmika Mandanna had also announced to donate ₹10 lakh for the fund.

Wayanad landslide

Nearly a week after the massive landslide in Kerala district Wayanad, search operation is still underway to recover dead bodies or remains of those who died due to the landslide. According to a PTI report, the rescue operation is currently more concentrated on the Chaliyar river basin with a special team on helicopter scanning the water body for bodies or remains, the district administration said.

“Intensive search operations are going on,” PTI quoted District Collector Meghashree D R. ADGP M R Ajithkumar said that there were inaccessible areas along the Chaliyar river where some local volunteers were stranded in the last couple of days and had to be rescued. The Wayanad landslide death toll has crossed 200 mark with several people still missing.
