Who is Mahak Jaiswal? UP Board 12th topper secures 97.2%

The Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad (UPMSP) on April 25 declared the UP Board Class 12 result today. Mahak Jaiswal topped the intermediate exam.

Who is Mahak Jaiswal?

Mahak Jaiswal scored 97.20% and hails from Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh. She received an impressive 486 out of 500 marks. She aspires to become a doctor. 

According to reports, she is a student of Bachchha Ram Yadav Inter College, Bhulai Ka Pura. Mahak’s mother, Kusum Jaiswal is a housewife, while her father Shiv Prasad Jaiswal is a labourer. She is the second daughter of her family, after her elder sister, Aarushi Jaiswal, who also was in news in 2018 by attaining the fourth rank in the state for the same exam.

"I studied entirely at home and did not take any offline or online coaching classes. I only focussed on what was taught in school. I am overwhelmed. I received support from my teachers and family. I was expecting 95 per cent,” PTI quoted her as saying.

“I used to study for nine to 10 hours every day. I give credit for my success to my elder sister, other family members and teachers. I had thought my name would appear among the top students in Uttar Pradesh, but not expected to secure the first position,” she added.

Girls outshined boys, with a pass percentage of 86.37% compared to 76.60% for boys. The overall pass percentage for Class 12 stood at 81.15%.

He added the UP govt will honour all toppers at the state and district levels.
