Indian wrestler Bajrang Punia has said that the wrestlers will share what they discussed with the government with the people who are supporting them. Punia said there are a lot of organizations supporting the wrestlers including the Khap Panchayat, Farmer organisations etc. A panchayat will be held in Harayan's Sonipat over wrestlers' issues.

Earlier this week, Asian games gold medalist Vinesh Phogat had questioned if the ‘daughters’ will get justice in an atmosphere of ‘fear and intimidation’.

She wrote on her Twitter handle, "Will the daughters get justice in the atmosphere of fear and intimidation???"

“May these daughters not lose courage one by one because of the delay in this fight for justice??? God give courage to all." the wrestler added

Phogat made these remarks after a minor who had complained of sexual harassment charges against the outgoing WFI Chief Brij Bhushan Singh revoked her complaint.

Father of the minor wrestler later told news agency PTI that he had levelled sexual harassment charges against the WFI President to settle scores for her daughter's defeat in the Under 17 Asian Championship trials.

Protesting wrestlers had agreed to suspend their protest for a week after a five-hour meeting with Union Sports Minister Anurag Thakur on June 7. The wrestlers were assured that the ongoing probe against Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) chief Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh will be completed by 15 June and a chargesheet will also be filed.

Sports Minister Anurag Thakur had also promised that Indian Olympic Association's ad-hoc committee will conduct the Wrestling Federation of India's elections by 30 June. According to news agency PTI, the ad-hoc committee has already started taking the first step towards WFI election by gathering the voter's list and a retired high court judge will also be appointed soon to oversee the election process.
