New Delhi: Continuing its investigation after Rana Kapoor's arrest, the Enforcement Directorate called in Yes Bank's former MD and CEO Ravneet Gill to its Mumbai office for questioning on Monday evening.

Gill was quizzed for several hours over the ongoing crisis. The probe agency, however, did not divulge any details of the interrogation.

People familiar with the development said that Gill was quizzed by the probe agency in Mumbai in connection with the 3,700 crore investment made by Yes Bank in the scam-hit Dewan Housing Finance Limited (DHFL).

Both the ED and the Central Bureau of Investigation have alleged that from April to June 2018, Yes Bank had invested 3,700 crore in short-term debentures of DHFL. In the same period, DHFL promoter Kapil Wadhawan paid a kickback of 600 crore to Rana Kapoor and his family members in the garb of builder loan of 600 crore given by DHFL.

In its FIR and remand application, the probe agency has alleged that Rana Kapoor, his wife Bindu Kapoor and daughters Roshini Kapoor, Rakhee Kapoor Tandon and Radha Kapoor Khanna have been accused of having allegedly received kickbacks to the tune of 600 crore for the firm controlled by them, from an entity linked to DHFL.

Gill had served as the managing director and chief executive officer under Kapoor.

Both the Central Bureau of Investigation and ED have named Rana Kapoor, his wife Bindu Kapoor who is the director of RAB Enterprises Pvt Ltd and his daughters along with DHFL, DOIT Urban Ventures India Pvt Ltd, Morgan Credits Pvt Ltd whose director is Kapoor’s three daughters, Wadhawan, who was the promoter of DHFL, and Dheeraj Rajesh Kumar Wadhawan, the director of RKW developers Pvt Ltd.
