MHADA Lottery 2023 for 4,083 flats: Dates, availability, eligibility and how to apply

MHADA has launched the lottery application process for the sale of 4,083 apartments for a variety of income groups. The procedure will take place online on MHADA's official lottery portals.

The Mumbai Housing Area and Development Authority (MHADA) has launched the lottery application process for the sale of 4,083 apartments. The application process will be live till 6 pm on June 26 and the full procedure will take place online at housing.mhada.gov.in and mhada.gov.in, MHADA’s official lottery portals. 

The lottery will be conducted using MHADA’s updated Computerised Lottery System, which makes use of cutting-edge technology to ensure transparency. The computerised lottery rules' Version 2.0 is intended to make the application process simple and secure for customers. The MHADA has also warned prospective purchasers to be on the lookout for con artists who might con them into paying for a guaranteed flat.

Out of the 4,083 apartments in the lottery draw, 2,790 flats are for the economically weaker section, 1,034 are for low-income groups, 139 for middle-income groups and 120 flats for high-income groups. The price will range from 34 lakh to 4 crore depending on the size and areas of each flat. 

Important Dates:

June 26 - Application process will be live till 6 pm. Online debit/credit card deposit payments will be completed.

June 28 - Payments made via RTGS or NEFT may be made up until this date during normal hours.

July 4 - Draft link for applicants will be provided. 

July 7 - Objections may be made up to this date. 

July 12 - Final list of applicants will be made public. 

July 18 - The lottery will be conducted at the Rang Sharda Auditorium in Bandra West.

Online streams of the entire drawing process will be available. 

Income Groups: 

Based on population, income groups have been categorised into economically disadvantaged sections ( 6 lakh), lower-income groups ( 9 lakh), middle-income groups ( 12 lakh), and higher-income groups (above 12 lakh) in areas with a population of over 10 lakh. The threshold annual income for the moderate and high-income categories for the remainder of the Maharashtra category is unaltered. The cut-off is reduced by 1.5 lakh for low-income and economically vulnerable categories.

Availability: 

Flats are available in the following areas: Pahari - Goregaon West, Mahavir Nagar - Kandivali West, Old Magathane - Borivali East, Gavanpada - Mulund East, PMGP Mankhurd, Malvani - Malad West, Unnatnagar - Goregaon West, Juhu, Andheri West, Wadala West, Tardeo, Lower Parel, Shimpoli - Kandivali West and Tunga - Powai. Andheri East, Antop Hill, Kannamwar Nagar, Lokmanya Nagar - Dadar, Antop Hill - Wadala, Siddharth Nagar - Goregaon West, Tilak Nagar - Chembur, Chandivali - Powai, Gaikwad Nagar - Malad, Pratiksha Nagar - Sion, D N Nagar – Andheri West, Pant Nagar - Ghatkopar, Charkop - Kandivali West, Shahkar Nagar - Chembur, Byculla.

How to Apply:

Applicants have to register on the official website www.mhada.gov.in/en.

Create a username and select the lottery and scheme. 

Make an online payment for registration depending upon their income group. 

List of documents required: 

Applicants are required to submit their Aadhar card, PAN card and residence proof. Other documents required are an applicant's birth certificate, domicile certificate of Maharashtra, eligible driving license, bank account details, passport, school leaving certificate and voter ID card. 

The drawing is anticipated to happen next month. After paying the remaining sum, lottery winners must show up at the MHADA office to take ownership of the flat.
