Pritam Chakraborty, the renowned Bollywood music director, reported a robbery of ₹40 lakh from his Mumbai office, News18 reported. The music director registered a formal complaint with the police alleging his staff's involvement.
After the composer’s manager discovered the theft, a complaint was filed at Malad police station, according to News18 report. The primary suspect has been identified as 32-year-old Ashish Sayal. Mumbai police have formed teams to trace Ashish Sayal.
The theft occurred at Pritam’s music studio Unimus Record Pvt. Ltd around 2:00 pm on February 4, which is located in Goregaon, as per the report. The composer’s manager, Vineet Chedda, had received the cash delivery of ₹40 lakh in a bag from a production house representative. When the robbery happened, three individuals were present in the Mumbai office studio, including Sayal, Ahmed Khan, and Kamal Disha.
According to a police official, the manager placed the cash in a trolley bag in the Goregaon office after receiving the payment. Following this, Vineet Chedda headed to Pritam Chakraborty’s house which islocated in the same building to get some documents signed.
When Vineet Chedda returned, he did not find the trolley bag with the cash anywhere. Vineet Chedda questioned the staff over the missing bag filled with cash and got to know that Ashish Sayal had taken it. According to the staff, Ashish took the bag claiming that he was moving it to Chakraborty’s residence.
Pritam Chakraborty, is a National Award Winning Indian composer, instrumentalist, guitarist, music producer and singer. He hails from Kolkata and graduated from FTII in Sound Engineering. He debuted as a co-composer in the 2001 Hindi film Tere Liye and as a solo composer with the movie Dhoom.
He won one of the most acclaimed Zee Cine Award for Best Track of the Year for the title track of Dhoomn which marked a breakthrough in his music career.
