Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said on Wednesday, March 26, that Russian President Vladimir Putin ‘will die soon’, which, he believes, would end the ongoing war between the two countries.
Zelensky's bold claims on Vladimir Putin have come amid speculation around the Russian leader's ‘deteriorating’ health and the Black Sea ceasefire deal between Ukraine and Russia, brokered by the United States.
But US attempt to pause the war between Russia and Ukraine did not come for free. As a precondition for a ceasefire deal, the US had agreed to help Russia lift a series of Western sanctions and restrictions on food, fertiliser and shipping companies.
Zelensky said, “It is very important that America does not help Putin to get out of this global isolation now. I believe that this is dangerous. This is one of the most dangerous moments."
The Ukrainian President said that Vladimir Putin fears his own mortality but “he will die soon, that is a fact, and everything will be over.”
He will die soon? While no official details have been disclosed about Vladimir Putin's allegedly ‘persisting’ health complications, reports speculate that he may be dealing with various medical conditions.
Several claims on Vladimir Putin's health floated on the internet after he remained out of public view for nearly two weeks. When he did appear, he looked frail, with visible tremors in his hands and legs, and was occasionally seen holding his wrist close to his body.
From Parkinson's disease, motor neurone disease to cancer and being “crazy”, speculation about Putin's health have surged after Russian invasion in Ukraine.
Sir Richard Dearlove, the former head of M16, once said, “There is something fundamentally wrong with him medically….Probably Parkinson’s which of course has different representations, different variations, different seriousness.”
In one of the old clips, Putin was seen clutching the table throughout his meeting with Russian defence minister Sergei Shoigu, triggering talks that he may have a neurological disorder. In a separate incident, Putin's legs twitched uncontrollably during a public event.
In another clip, showing his meeting with Belarusian leader Alexander Lukashenko, Vladimir Putin was seen clutching his fist tight to his body. There were also reports that Putin suffers from a cancer which is rapidly progressing or a brain tumour.
Kremlin has dismissed all rumours surrounding Vladimir Putin's health.
