Sharjah Chamber of Commerce to organise trade mission to India from 29 May-2 June
The trade mission aligns with the SCCI's strategic goals of expanding into foreign markets and exploring new opportunities for the Sharjah business community

The Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) will be organising a trade mission to India from 29 May to 2 June. Led by the SCCI's Sharjah Exports Development Center, the mission aims to strengthen economic and trade cooperation, promote investment, and establish partnerships between Sharjah and India. The delegation will be led by SCCI Chairman Abdullah Sultan Al Owais and will include officials from SCCI and major private industrial and commercial entities in Sharjah.
The trade mission aligns with the SCCI's strategic goals of expanding into foreign markets and exploring new opportunities for the Sharjah business community. It will also support the goals of the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) between the UAE and India, which came into effect in May 2022, by facilitating increased trade and promoting key export sectors.
During the five-day mission, the delegation will showcase the benefits and investment opportunities available in Sharjah, aiming to attract foreign investors and encourage Indian businesses to invest in sectors aligned with Sharjah's economic vision and sustainable development goals. Mumbai and New Delhi will be the primary destinations, where business forums and meetings will be organized to foster interactions between officials and leaders from both countries' Chambers of Commerce and Industry.
This trade mission follows the establishment of the New Indian Professional Business Council in Sharjah in February 2023, which aims to strengthen bilateral cooperation and boost trade and investment volumes with friendly nations.
The activation of the CEPA has had a positive impact on trade and investment between the UAE and India, with the value of non-oil intra-trade reaching $45.5 billion in the first 11 months, representing a 6.9% annual increase.
Overall, the trade mission to India seeks to enhance economic ties, encourage investment, and facilitate mutually beneficial partnerships between Sharjah and India in line with their respective economic goals and the CEPA.
