Telangana news: A tragic accident in Telangana resulted in the deaths of five people when car plunged into a lake in Yadadri Bhongir district of the state. Police have suspected drink driving as a potential cause of the accident, as per reports.
According to preliminary investigation, the incident occurred early morning around 5:30 am when six people were travelling from Kothagudem to Pochampalli in the car. They all were residents of LB Nagar RTC Colony in Hyderabad.
According to Sub-inspector of Pochampalli Police station, “An accident occurred early this morning around 5:30 am at Jalalpur village lake. Six members were traveling in the car; one member escaped by breaking the car's glass, while the other five members died. They were traveling from Kothagudem to Pochampalli and were all natives of LB Nagar RTC Colony. The car was speeding, and after losing control, it fell into the lake. The deceased bodies have been shifted to the area hospital,” s quoted by ANI.
The police have officially registered a case and are conducting an investigation to determine the cause of the accident.
In another incident, five people, including three family members, lost their lives in a motorcycle collision in UP's Gorakhpur district. The accident occurred near the Mohaddipur power station late on Friday night. Vikrant (35), along with his wife Nikita (30), their son Angad (5), and two infant daughters, Laado and Pari, were returning home from a family function when their motorcycle collided with another one coming from the opposite direction. A third motorcyclist, trying to avoid the collision, crashed into a truck.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath ordered immediate financial assistance of ₹two lakh each to the families of the deceased in the Kannauj accident, the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Office (CMO) said. The state government will also provide financial assistance of ₹50,000 each to those who sustained serious injuries, the CMO further stated. This comes after eight people lost their lives and at least 19 others were left injured after a double-decker bus collided with a water tanker on the Lucknow-Agra Expressway on Friday.
