Trade mission to India: Sharjah concludes five day trade mission, India to organise a delegation visit later this year

The Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) has wrapped up its productive trade mission to India, following five days of fruitful meetings and discussions with Indian business and industrial associations in New Delhi and Mumbai.
Organized by the Sharjah Exports Development Centre, the trade mission aimed to explore potential investment advantages and lucrative opportunities to further strengthen bilateral ties.
In New Delhi, a significant event organised by the Chamber as part of the second stop of the trade mission, the meetings took place on the sidelines of the “UAE-India Business Forum."
A key outcome of the discussions was the mutual interest in deepening ties, with the Indian side expressing its intention to organize a high-level trade delegation visit to the Emirate of Sharjah in the last quarter of this year.
The business gatherings provided an effective platform to discuss potential investment advantages and trade opportunities across diverse economic sectors. Both sides expressed a strong desire to enhance cooperation, exchange experiences, and learn from best practices.
The meetings focused on developing the exports of commercial and industrial enterprises and introducing the private sector to rewarding opportunities in promising sectors.
First meeting
During the first major meeting, Abdullah Sultan Al Owais, Chairman of SCCI, along with other officials, met with a delegation from the Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry of India (ASSOCHAM) led by Pooja Ahluwalia, Assistant Secretary General of ASSOCHAM.. They explored ways to strengthen industrial and commercial cooperation, leveraging expertise and facilitating joint investment projects.
Second meeting
In the second meeting, Abdullah Sultan Al Owais and his accompanying delegation met Paresh Kantilal Mehta, Regional Chairman of the Federation of Indian Export Organizations, discussions were held with the Federation of Indian Export Organizations to foster cooperation in trade promotion of local products and goods for both countries. Opportunities for developing partnerships to boost exports and explore new markets were also explored.
Al Owais highlighted the SCCI's commitment to supporting its associate members from the business community in Sharjah. He briefed the Indian side on the attractive services and facilities offered by SCCI-affiliated institutions to facilitate business growth.
Al Owais encouraged the Indian delegation to actively participate in specialized exhibitions organized by Expo Centre Sharjah throughout the year, which would not only showcase Indian products but also expand their reach in local and regional markets.
Signing of MoU
Additionally, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) is set to be signed between the SCCI and the Trade Promotion Council of India to facilitate the exchange of visits for trade delegations and promote participation in exhibitions.
Final day
The mission concluded with discussions between Al Owais and the Millennial India International Chamber of Commerce, Industry, & Agriculture (MIICCIA) to strengthen economic and trade collaboration and foster investment flow between the UAE and India.
Throughout the mission, representatives from industrial and commercial companies participated in field visits to economic facilities and factories in Mumbai and New Delhi, fostering cooperation, sharing experiences, and building investment partnerships.
