Perplexity CEO Aravind Srinivas on Tuesday announced the winner of the Perplexity ICC Champions Trophy giveaway contest.
In a post on X, Srinivas shared, “The winner of the Perplexity ICC Champions Trophy giveaway contest is Arpit Choudhury. Congratulations, iCanAutomate!”
Earlier, after India's victory over Australia in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 semifinal, Srinivas announced a contest for the upcoming summit clash.
Perplexity, a conversational AI platform, suggested that the contest likely involved using their app during the cricket match, similar to their previous "Million Dollar Question" campaign during the Super Bowl. The winner, Arpit Choudhury, was selected randomly. Participants earned entries by asking questions on the Perplexity app during the contest period, with a maximum of 10 entries per person to ensure fairness.
According to his LinkedIn profile, Arpit Choudhury is a professional who began his career as a Content and Community Consultant in 2021. He was later involved in an advisory program run by Mixpanel. Choudhury is also the founder of Data-led Academy, which was acquired by Amplitude. He is currently working at Databeats.

Earlier, on March 5, Perplexity CEO Aravind Srinivas announced a contest for the final, promising a prize of at least ₹1 crore. However, no latest remark has been made about the prize sum.
A user replied to Srinivas's post on X and said, "Random selection? Interesting outcome, given that the winner's profile aligns so well with Perplexity's work. Statistically, the odds seem skewed when most participants in such are typically from diverse, less specialized backgrounds. Raises questions about the randomness here."

Another said, “Totally no random. I'm disappointed. Not expect this from a guy like you. I thought u credible. I made a lot of people join perplexity just for that contest and they have stuck around.”
Another person wrote, “He doesn't live in India, lives in US (maybe a US citizen). ICC and Championship trophy had nothing to do with USA. The final match was between India and New Zealand, like why did this guy win the prize ???!!!!!”
“It looks its not random selection. Looks like you hired a software developer from India,” another netizen wrote.
