Deva Box Office Collection Day 4: Following decent opening weekend numbers, Shahid Kapoor's movie Deva witnessed a massive drop in its earnings on Monday.
Deva, Malayalam director Rosshan Andrrews' debut in the Hindi industry movie, is pitched against Akshay Kumar's Sky Force. It is reportedly a remake of the 2013 Malayalam film Mumbai Police, also directed by Rosshan Andrrews.
According to industry tracker Sacnilk, the action thriller's box office numbers fell by nearly 65 per cent, breaking its upward streak.
Produced under the banner Roy Kapur Films and Zee Studio, Deva netted ₹5.5 crore on its opening day and earned a net total of ₹19.49 crore over the weekend.
However, the Bollywood movie starring Pooja Hegde witnessed a 64.83 per cent fall in its collection on Monday, February 3. Thus, on day 4 of its theatrical release, Rosshan Andrrews' Bollywood movie could only earn earned just ₹2.55 crore net at the domestic box office.
According to film industry tracker Sacnilk, the movie has amassed ₹21.70 crore net in four days.
Deva saw an 8.55 per cent Hindi occupancy in theatres on Sunday.
The movie saw the highest numbers, city-wise, in Chennai, Kolkata, and Mumbai, where it had occupancy of 19.67 per cent, 14.50 per cent, and 12.25 per cent, respectively.
According to Sacnilk, Shahid Kapoor's movie Deva's worldwide box office collection stood at ₹34 crore gross on Day 4.
In the overseas market, it earned ₹11 crore gross and ₹23 crore gross at the India box office, which adds up to the worldwide gross.
The narrative of this cop drama revolves around the world of a brilliant and rebellious police officer. While investigating a high-profile case, the police officer unravels layers of deceit and betrayal. Shahid Kapoor plays the role of a defiant police officer. Pooja Hegde and Pavail Gulati feature in the ensemble cast.
