Hollywood actor and CEO Gwyneth Paltrow has dismissed speculation over an alleged “beef” (i.e. feud) with fellow Hollywood celebrity and CEO Meghan Markle in an Instagram story post, which surprisingly featured the Duchess of Sussex herself.
The addressal came in a story post, where the 52-year-old actor answered a follower's “question and answer” session query, that read: “Are you comprehending the Meghan Markle beef that social media says you two have?”
Gwyneth Paltrow, sitting at her dining table, said: “I genuinely do not understand this, at all, whatsoever...”
She then cheekily turned to her right and asked: “Do you understand this?” and then turned her phone to show Meghan Markle, who can be seen sitting and eating pie at the same table. The Duchess of Sussex only shrugged, raised her hand questioningly, and then laughed off the question, before the video ended.
Rumours about a rift between 43-year-old Meghan Markle and Gwyneth Paltrow began after the latter's cover story with Vanity Fair was published on March 18 and many speculated her quote of not seeing other women as competition was interpreted as a jibe towards Meghan Markle.
“I was raised to see other women as friends, not foes. I think there’s always more than enough to go around. Everybody deserves an attempt at everything that they want to try. “Another woman is never your competition,” Paltrow said in the interview.
Notably, Prince Harry (40) and Meghan Markle share live in the same area as Gwyneth Paltrow in California's posh Montecito neighbourhood, according to a report by People magazine.
When asked by Vanity Fair if she was friends with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Gwyneth Paltrow denied knowing the couple personally. “I don’t know Meghan and Harry. I mean, I’ve met Meghan, who seems really lovely, but I don’t know her at all. Maybe I’ll try to get through their security detail and bring them a pie,” she had then said in the interview.
