
Miss Universe 2025 Winner LIVE Updates: Mexico’s Fátima Bosch has been crowned Miss Universe, with Miss Thailand securing the runner-up title. India’s Manika Vishwakarma exited the competition in the Top 12, extending India’s wait for the crown since Harnaaz Kaur Sandhu’s win in 2021. This year’s finalists included contestants from Chile, Colombia, Cuba, Guadeloupe, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Venezuela, China, the Philippines, Thailand, Malta, and Côte d’Ivoire. Notably, Indian badminton icon Saina Nehwal served on the judging panel for the 2025 pageant.
This year’s Miss Universe ceremony took place in Thailand, with Puerto Rico revealed as the host for next year’s edition.
The pageant faced significant controversy throughout the event—starting with allegations that a contestant’s intellect was undermined, escalating to multiple participants walking out, and culminating in an emotional moment where the host broke down in tears.

During the final question round, Mexico’s Fátima Bosch was asked how she would use her title to empower young girls. In her impactful response, she said, “As Miss Universe, I will say to them, believe in the power of your authenticity, believe in yourself, your dreams matter and your heart matters. Never let anyone make you doubt your worth, because you are worth everything.”
Miss Universe Thailand 2025, Praveenar Singh — born in Chiang Mai — comes from a Thai-Indian family.
Veena, born on April 16, 1996, in Chiang Mai, comes from an Indian family and later became a naturalised Thai citizen. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Russian Studies from Thammasat University before stepping into the pageant world. Her pageant journey began in 2018 when she represented Chiang Mai at Miss Universe Thailand, where she finished as the second runner-up.
In 2020, she came close to winning the national crown, securing the first runner-up position to Amanda Obdam. She returned again in 2023 and placed second runner-up, further cementing her reputation as one of Thailand’s most persistent and passionate beauty queens.

Miss Mexico addressed a question on the challenges women face and how she would use her title to create safer spaces for women worldwide. Meanwhile, Miss Côte d’Ivoire shared her thoughts on the emotional skill she believes every child should be taught in school.

A nervous Miss Côte d'Ivoire could hardly speak her own name at the stage, and fumbled when screaming the name of her country. Miss Croatia started with her intro, but the former spoke over her and introduced her country.
Manika Vishwakarma, India's contestant in the Miss Universe finale, hails from Sri Ganganagar, Rajasthan. She is currently in her final year of a degree in Political Science and Economics.
Manika was crowned Miss Universe Rajasthan 2024.
Miss Universe 2025 has been surrounded by major controversies. There have been accusations of rigging, conflicts of interest and legal concerns.
Three judges resigned just days before the pageant, with one alleging the results were fixed and that a secret, unofficial jury had already chosen finalists. Another claimed a jury member was romantically involved with a contestant.
Tensions escalated when Nawat Itsaragrisil, director of Miss Universe Thailand, publicly scolded Mexico’s contestant, Fatima Bosch, for skipping promotional events. He even had her removed by security.
Several contestants, including the reigning Miss Universe, walked out in protest. Nawat later apologised after Rocha’s intervention.
Thai police are investigating reports that contestants were asked to film promotional content for an online gambling site, allegedly violating national law.
