US President-elect Donald Trump on Sunday nominated Massad Boulos as a senior adviser on Arab and Middle Eastern affairs. Boulos is a Lebanese billionaire and father-in-law of Trump's daughter Tiffany.
Massad Boulos is the latest family member to be appointed to a key position. He played a crucial role in solidifying the Arab American community in Michigan in support of Donald Trump during the US Presidential Elections 2024.
While announcing Massad Boulos's nomination to the post, Donald Trump praised the businessman for his extensive experience on the International scene. He called Boulos an “unwavering supporter of PEACE in the Middle East.”
“I am proud to announce that Massad Boulos will serve as Senior Advisor to the President on Arab and Middle Eastern affairs. Massad is an accomplished lawyer and a highly respected leader in the business world, with extensive experience on the International scene. He has been a longtime proponent of Republican and Conservative values, an asset to my Campaign, and was instrumental in building tremendous new coalitions with the Arab American Community,” read a post by Trump on Truth Social.
Boulos arranged Trump campaign efforts to engage the Arab American community in Michigan, organising dozens of meetings in areas with large Arab American populations angered by Democratic President Joe Biden's backing of Israel's offensives in Gaza and Lebanon. Trump won the majority Arab American city of Dearborn Heights on his way to sweeping Michigan and other swing states.
He highlighted Boulos' long-standing support for Republican and Conservative values, as well as his instrumental role in fostering strong relationships with the Arab American community during the campaign.
Massad Boulos is the father of Michael Boulos, who is married to Tiffany Trump, Donald Trump's youngest daughter. He owns the automotive company SCOA Nigeria.
As per Agence France-Presse, Massad Boulos played a key role in mobilising Arab American and Muslim voters, many of whom were angry over President Joe Biden's steadfast support for Israel in the Gaza war even as the civilian death toll rose into the tens of thousands.
Earlier, he had sought office in Lebanon and has long-standing ties to political figures in the country, as per AP. Other Trump picks for key national security positions are staunch supporters of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, a Trump ally.
