Donald Trump’s approval rating has dropped to minus 17, the lowest of his second term and the weakest recorded for any US president in office, an analysis by AF Post reported on 31 March.

The anchor explained the trend, saying, “This is the lowest of his term, the lowest of his second term. We’re talking about minus 17 points, 17 points underwater."

He added that, although Trump's second term began on a positive note, his approval rating dropped sharply thereafter. “Unlike in Donald Trump’s first term, in which he was negative basically throughout his entire term, Trump actually started off in positive territory here in his second term, but now he’s at the lowest point of his second term.”

ComparingTrump with previous presidents, he said, "I went back, and I looked at all of the presidents at this point in a presidency, all of them, all of them at this point in a presidency, and guess what? Donald Trump is the lowest ever, the lowest ever at this point in a presidency, lower than Joe Biden, lower than Jimmy Carter, lower than Ronald Reagan."

What other polls said?

Meanwhile, a poll conducted by the University of Massachusetts Amherst found that 33% of respondents approved of his performance in office, while 62% disapproved; of those, 53% strongly disapproved. Also, a growing number of Americans expressed opposition to his administration’s military actions against Iran.

At least 33% of respondents said they “somewhat” or “strongly” identified with Make America Great Again (MAGA). This affiliation is higher among Republicans at 77% as compared with just 4% Democrats.

Even a Fox News poll showed the rising disapproval rating. The data put Trump’s approval rating at 41%, while 59% of registered voters expressed disapproval of his performance—the highest level of disapproval seen across both his terms in office.

Support among Republicans also declined, from 92% in March last year to 84% this year.
